Circle Support Statement

Circle Support offers safe and supportive environments that facilitate meaningful dialogue between groups of people, providing group members the opportunity to express themselves freely. While sharing personal experiences in a group setting can be daunting and requires courage, being open and honest about thoughts and feelings often leads to a sense of support and empowerment. Connecting with others creates space for a realignment with oneself, promoting acceptance and liberation from the initial concern. Understanding ourselves and each other can result in a reduction of uncomfortable emotions such as isolation, anxiety and anger.

What is Group Analysis?

Group analysis is a method of understanding and examining the dynamics, behaviours, and interactions within a group setting. It focuses on how individuals influence and are influenced by the group, exploring patterns of communication, shared norms, roles, and conflicts. Rooted in psychoanalytic and social theories, group analysis is widely used in psychotherapy, organisational development, and social research. It examines both conscious and unconscious processes, highlighting how group context shapes individual behavior and vice versa. The aim is to enhance group cohesion, resolve conflicts, and foster a deeper understanding of collective and individual functioning within the group framework.
